Tim and Randy as I mentioned earlier I will be moving to South High next year.
I will have two sections of year one Cisco and one section of year two Cisco and two sections of what I call Computer Engineering but is Comptia A+ program.
It is time for me to shop for a new text book as mine is getting a bit dated. I am wondering what you use or if you have any recommendations?
My current book is here.
This is sixth edition and she has an 8th edition that I am leaning to.

I also found out today that NDSCS is going to have an IT certificate program here at the Fargo Campus next fall.
I am not sure what it will be called but my impression was it would be along the lines of a certificate for a help desk person.
In visiting with the individual that is working on setting up the program it will have the first two semesters of Cisco, Comptia A+ Hardware and Software and I think he told me Unix.
There will be some Gen Ed’s and beyond that not sure what other IT courses will be offered. It did not sound like it would be a two year program but it is a foot in the door so to speak.
I remember earlier this year the President of NDSCS said his goal is to pull every ND student back across the river so they will be pushing hard.
Before next school year, if I can be of any help in promoting Moorhead you let me know and I will be there.
I have been running ideas through my head.
1. Tours of the School
2. Having members of the department come over and visit with students.
3. Having some students, preferably former Fargo students, come over and talk about the programs
4. Power Points, Virtual Tours
5. Promote how MSCTC has a proven track record and NDSCS is a new program here.
6. ETC. ETC.
An item I am very poor at and maybe you have some ideas is job shadows. I have never promoted job shadows and maybe you have some ideas. I am not looking for internships such as what your students do but more of where students might be able to go for a few hours or a couple of days to get an exposure. That might tie right in with your internships in which when they attend MSCTC they could just expand from job shadow to internship.
I still would like to talk about college credit from my class right to MSCTC even if it cost more but only if you are interested in that idea. My thinking on this is if they already have credit from MSCTC it is an easy sell to continue going to MSCTC.
